Counseling and DV Coaching

ARMS does not offer counseling services. We often recommend a combination of counseling/coaching and ARMS healing classes for full recovery from abuse. Please note that ARMS never recommends couples counseling when abuse is present in the relationship. Here is why.

It’s important for individuals to seek counselors and coaches who truly understand the manipulation of abuse. Most counselors are not trained specifically in domestic violence. In fact, counselors and social workers frequently take the DV training that ARMS has available as there is little to no abuse training in their professional schooling.  The counselors and coaches we recommend below have been trained and vetted. They provide knowledgeable and caring services to both survivors and perpetrators of abuse.

Some of the below resources are in-person and local to the Portland, OR area and others are available on a virtual basis. Several provide services for a discounted rate if you mention that you are a referral from ARMS.

If you are looking for additional Portland-area resources or resources outside of the Portland, OR area, call us at 503-846-9284 or 866-262-9284, M-F, 8am-5pm Pacific Time.
