HJ Leadership Individual Module is for women who have already completed the ARMS Domestic Violence Advocacy Training in 2025 or later and would like to lead their own Her Journey group. If you are interested in completing this course, please call the ARMS office and speak with our Women’s Ministry & Education Director.

This is an online course, flexible time, and takes 2-4 hours to complete over a 1 to 2 week period. Students may enroll any time (if they meet ARMS Leadership Qualifications).

All participants in this course must submit these forms at the start of the course:

  • Leadership Application
  • ARMS Policies
  • Background Check
  • Church or Ministry Recommendation Form

HJ Leadership Module: Group Dynamics and Leadership Boundaries
Video segments of do’s and don’ts within a group will be shown to help you best understand how to work with this those who have experienced abuse. Study how to be the most helpful versus using enabling or rescuing techniques. We also cover ARMS-approved guidelines for running groups, provide a final quiz and request a course survey from participants.

On completion you’ll receive:

-a Her Journey Leadership certificate

-a thorough understanding of how to facilitate Her Journey groups

-a Leader’s Guide on best practices plus a Grow Your Group guide with strategies to help your community find out about your group

-Grad Pack with materials you’ll need to start your group, including participant folders, handouts, flyers and more!
