Have you heard of the rice experiment? You can use rice to demonstrate the power that words have. Place rice in two separate cups and label one cup something pleasant and label the other cup something unpleasant. For the next thirty days, speak to the rice according to what it has been labeled. The rice will begin to respond! After the thirty-day trial period, the one labeled something pleasant will put off a sweet smell and seemingly appear more beautiful, while the one labeled something unpleasant will turn dark brown and begin to smell terrible. See “The Rice Experiment Proving the Power of Words”

This is such an amazing illustration of what happens in our lives with verbal and emotional abuse. Our inner being begins to absorb the words spoken to us, believing them to be true.

The Bible says in Proverbs 15:4, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.”

What has been spoken over you? What are you believing about yourself? Where did this belief come from? Whose truth are you listening to?

The Bible has a lot to say about truth versus lies, the power of the tongue, and what to do when we think we are not good enough. I encourage you to study what God has to say in His Word about YOU.

GOD LOVES YOU.

He loves you from the top of your head down to your toes. He created you and knit together the inner workings of your heart. He knows what lies you have absorbed in your life and what they have done to you.

God is waiting for you with outstretched arms to take that “bad rice” in your life and exchange it for the light of His truth. This exchange is something only He can do.

Pray this with me….

Psalms 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
